Abstract

Arsenic is mostly found in association with deposits of complex base-metal ores, particularly copper—lead—zinc ores and arsenical pyrite copper ore. It is also contained in some gold ores. Arsenic trioxide, As2O3, is recovered as a byproduct during the smelting of such ores.
