Abstract

Rocks in the Earth’s crust are mixtures. They can be divided into three types: igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. Each of these terms refers to the way in which the rock was formed. There are differences between these types of rocks in the minerals they contain and their texture. It is possible to identify many rocks by looking at their texture.
