Abstract

Computers are an integral part of the education of electronic and electrical engineers, to the extent that many BASIC language programs for the solution of many types of problem have been included in this book. In this chapter, we look at the solution of a range of examples using one of the popular software packages, namely SPICE (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis). We shall be using a version known as PSpice, of which a low-cost evaluation version is widely available to students. This has the full range of the facilities of SPICE itself (although it deals with smaller systems), and is particularly suited to student use. It is widely available from shareware sources (information can be obtained from any good computer magazine), and the evaluation version with full documenta-tion is available from the address at the foot of the page.
