Abstract
All the work on differentiation that we have looked at so far has involved the expression that is to be differentiated being written in the form y = f(x). We say that y is given explicitly in terms of x. However, there are other ways in which functions can be written, and we are now in a position once again to increase the range of functions that we can differentiate.
