Abstract

Light is an electromagnetic radiation, and visible light lies in a very narrow range of the electromagnetic spectrum. There is no real limit to the latter, it stretches from very low frequency waves of less than 1 Hz, observable by magnetometers,to X-rays and y-rays of frequencies up to 1020 Hz, as indicated in figure 7.1.
