Financing ESOPs: The Company’s Wider Perspective

  • Robin Blagburn
Part of the Finance and Capital Markets Series book series

This chapter will examine more closely ESOPs from the company’s perspective, with particular emphasis on financing aspects. What are the objectives, for instance, of the shareholders, management and employees? Can these objectives, not always apparently complementary, be met by judicious use of an ESOP scheme? How might the scheme be financed — from internal or external sources? If the latter, is the scheme attractive enough for the banks or other lenders to wish to provide funding?
