Abstract

This paper tries to examine the role of agriculture within the national economy. It seeks to answer the question: what can be expected — as realistically as possible — for Hungary with its industrial orientation? Only in close connection with the answer to this question can we try to answer a second important question: what will be the role of Hungarian agriculture or of agribusiness in the process of transition?
