Abstract
After the US, formal political risk assessment is more common among Canadian MNCs than elsewhere. Tables 6.1 and 6.2 show that by 1987 at least six of Canada’s top 25 industrial corporations and all of the top five international banks had institutionalized the political risk assessment function. This chapter reviews the role and organization of these Canadian political risk assessment units.
