Abstract

It is estimated that 236 000 ha of deepwater rice is currently grown in the deltas and adjoining lands of the four Peninsular rivers, the Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna and Cauvery, which flow eastwards into the Bay of Bengal (Table 16.1; Figure 16.1).
