Abstract

Recognising that craft training is now reduced to 3 years and that at the end of this period the apprentice is expected and often required to work with craftsmen of many years’ experience, also, that many students of building expect to aspire to positions of site management, the authors emphasise the importance of efficiency in craft operations and the necessity to use ‘method building’ whenever the opportunity is available.
