Abstract

In a free European market, relocating businesses or setting up new operations closer to main markets may be an attractive option for companies seeking to expand their operations within Europe. Areas designated as ‘assisted areas’ in many parts of Europe are attracting new businesses with incentive packages. The main criterion, apart from the broad intention to promote economic growth, is the creation of jobs.
