Summary

A core question for all practice teachers and students concerns the nature and type of learning on a placement. This chapter considers the ways in which practice learning can be structured through a practice curriculum. The curriculum’s position as a key element in the structured learning model is discussed for practice teachers and students, and various approaches to the design of curricula are reviewed. Principles are presented to aid in devising, developing or modifying curricula for particular contexts.
