US-Lao Relations, 1988

  • David Floyd Lambertson

Abstract

In 1982 both the Lao and US governments agreed to try to improve their bilateral relationship through concrete steps on each side. For the United States the principal standard of measurement is progress on the POW/MIA question, which remains a matter of very high priority for the US government. I think there has been progress. That this relationship will continue to develop is certainly our hope, and we want to continue working with the Lao government toward that end.
