Abstract

It is necessary to rule out organic disease and to prove the psychogenic factor for diagnosis of psychogenic disturbance of vision. Its diagnosis however, is not always easy. Visually evoked potentials (VEPs) is mostly normal and it is believed that there are no organic changes in the visual pathway in this disorders. It is interesting to investigate the change of the P300 components of the event related potential (ERP), which is thought to be a sign of the end of transmitting information in this disease. In this paper the P300 components of the ERP in the psychogenic disturbance of vision were studied.
