VNB1 is a kind of workbook recording passages directly from or suggested by the AS. The notes and summaries follow a fairly chronological order beginning with excerpts from AS 9 Nov 17 and ending on 1 Feb 18, with at least one notable exception — a summary of a Script devoted to Anne Hyde on 23 Feb 18 (see p 61). This pattern suggests that the collaborators — chiefly George — intended to codify or select material from all the Script as they did here. (It is, of course, possible that other similar NBs are lost.) The first notes come from the narrative dialogue of 9 Nov, which is significant as the date of the first two formally recorded Qs and As in the Script. Both about the AM, they are also recorded on the first Card in the CF.
