Abstract
Scientists have known for almost 50 years that the incidence of tumours in animals can be affected by what they are given to eat. In the human, studies claim that about 40% of male cancers and 60% of female cancers in the US can be attributed to diet and suggest that dietary modifications might result in a 35% reduction of deaths from cancer.
