Abstract

So far we have considered fields to be stationary and current to be steady, and we have been able to study electric fields and magnetic fields quite separately although we have noticed remarkable analogies between them. In this programme we investigate the consequences of moving fields and varying currents, and we find that there is in fact an intimate relationship between electric fields and magnetic fields.
