Stress Transformations and Mohr’s Circle of Stress
In Programmes 5 to 9 we learnt how to calculate the stresses within structural members when subjected to direct axial loading, bending, shear and torsion. The theories that we have developed are applicable to a wide range of problems and the formulae that we have used are widely utilised in the design of many types of structural component using different materials of construction.
