Abstract
One of the great challenges in dopaminergic structure-activity relationship studies is that the elements of the dopamine molecule can be incorporated within the matrix of a variety of ring systems, with retention of a high degree of potency and activity with respect to at least a portion of the spectrum of biological effects manifested by dopamine itself. Structures 1–6 illustrate some representative ring systems which have been studied.
