Abstract

Contrary to popular myth, managers are not in post to thwart the best intentions of hard-working nurses simply trying to do their job, but it is understandable that people do feel resentful of their managers, for to do the job well requires ability and competency in areas in which many nurse managers have received little or no formal training.
