Abstract

The correct use of a drug by a patient is directly dependent upon two conditions:

  1. 1.

Acceptance by the patient of the principle of taking the drug for treating his disease or disorder.

  2. 2.

Understanding the conditions under which he is to take the drug.

The rôle of the prescriber is essential for this purpose. However, not all drugs are prescribed, and information given by the physician may be too quick, considered as incomplete or poorly understood.
