Abstract
Jane Eyre is the story of an orphan told in her own words. The narrative is revealed retrospectively and chronologically. From the vantage point of the present Jane Eyre looks back into the past, revealing the significant events of her life more or less in the order in which they happened. Even so, although the sequence of her history is not tampered with, there are omissions. Some chapters cover hours, others years.
