Abstract

The scientific literature consists of written reports of scientific investigations and as such will provide you with a very valuable source of information from which to acquire a background knowledge of your project, and to develop ideas relating to: the methods you use in your investigation; the analyses and interpretation of results; and the development of the project through different investigations. It is also important to demonstrate in your report that you have a critical appreciation and understanding of the literature relating to your project. It is therefore necessary to read the literature attentively and critically in order to complete your project satisfactorily.
