Abstract

The Juvenile Court is a special sort of magistrates court. It deals with children and young people aged between 10 and 16 who are charged with a crime, children involved in care proceedings and with adoption proceedings. Generally speaking, a child refers to a person under the age of 14 and a young person refers to a person who is aged between 14 and 16.
