Abstract

This Unit is only concerned with those cases where a group of children frequently non-attend as a group and remain together as a group during their periods of non-attendance. The commonly agreed definition of a truant is that he is absent from school without the knowledge of his parents. The group of non-attenders here then should, in the main, be absent from school without the knowledge of their parents. For any other type of non-attendance you should refer to the TIPs Unit NON-ATTENDANCE.
