Abstract
The population of The Netherlands has been growing over the period 1974–83, with an overall increase of approximately 6.1 per cent (Table 11.1). Females exceed the number of males by a small margin, with the former accounting for 50.5 per cent of total population in 1983 and the latter for 49.5 per cent.
