Abstract

The area of allocation and transportation is fundamentally concerned with the process of planning an optimal allocation of resources. In a typical starting-point we require a specification of the resources available and their location, and the resources required and their destination, in addition to the cost of transporting a unit from each of the initial locations to each of the final destinations.
