The Induction of Trifluorothymidine Resistance in L5178Y Tk+/− Mouse Lymphoma Cells by 4-Dimethylaminoazobenzene and 4-Cyanodimethylaniline

Summary

The DAB/CDA pair of compounds was tested for activity in the L5178Y Tk+/− mouse lymphoma assay. Resistance to trifluorothymidine (TFT) was used as the endpoint. The compounds were tested without activation, and with uninduced and Aroclor-induced rat liver S9. Muta-genic activity was only detected with Aroclor-induced S9. Sample B of CDA was weakly positive, and DAB showed some activity, but was not a convincing positive.
