Studies on the Metabolic Activation of Benzidine and its Terphenyl Derivative to Mutagens in the Salmonella Plate Incorporation Assay by Various Liver Preparations

  • Chapter

Abstract

The activation of benzidine (BZD) and 4,4″-diaminoterphenyl (DAT) to mutagens in the Ames Salmonella plate incorporation test was investigated. Uninduced and Aroclor-induced rat liver S9 and chicken liver S9 supplied by UKEMS were used at three different concentrations in the assay with Salmonella typhimurium TA1538 as the tester strain.
