Abstract
With the increase of the practical application, the technology of the Flexible Manufacturing System ( FMS ) advances remarkably. For instance, the application field of the FMS spreads over the metal forming, laser machining, plastic injection molding, assembly and so on. Nevertheless the FMS becomes popular and one of the conventional production systems, its economical justification or evaluation method, in which the quantitative evaluation of the system flexibility is incorporated, is not established as yet even in the case of the FMS for metal cutting.
