Abstract
Romeo and Juliet is set in Verona, in Northern Italy. Two leading families, the Montagues and the Capulets, have a long-standing quarrel between them, and (to the annoyance of the Prince and the other citizens) members of these households cannot meet without brawling and disturbing the peace.
