Abstract

A common requirement will be to obtain a printed copy of one or more records that are contained in a file. Appendix II gives an overview of the various types of printer that are available for use with the BBC micro. However, because there is such a wide choice, there are several ways of achieving the same printing format for a document when using different printers. It would be a difficult task, therefore, to produce routines for all the printers that exist at the time of writing and are likely to exist in the future. For this reason, and also because some readers will not initially have access to a printer, a printing routine that works with any printer is required.
