Abstract
Rarely performed, O’Casey’s epic epiphany — least familiar of his major plays — is, ironically, his most ambitious drama, being regarded by the discerning few as his most comprehensive as well as, perhaps, his most crowning theatrical achievement. Certainly, it is the most English inspired of his plays.
