Abstract

By now you will have recognised that certain questions and issues occur again and again whenever you plan a new use for your home computer. For example, in almost every case you need a collection of data — a file. This file has to be organised in such a way that you can find the information that you need, often in a variety of different forms. Another aspect that arises regularly is defining the output in a precise way, to enable you to work out the format of the displayed information and, very importantly, to find exactly what information needs to be put into the system.
