Abstract

In the Theme (page xxxvi) of this book attention was drawn to the link between editorial freedom of the media and the low level of political violence in Britain; and to the necessity of preserving both of these things if we are to maintain the tranquillity of a pluralist and tolerant society under the rule of law.
