Summary
A computer program which calculates the wear distribution over slideway surfaces of lathes is developed. The calculated wear is used as the base for determining the machining accuracy. For a defined acceptable level of accuracy, life of lathes are estimated. The calculated results are verified by comparing them with the measurements which are obtained from an old lathe.
