Abstract

One of the major tasks of the modern manager is interviewing people. The manager may need to interview an applicant for a new job, a member of staff who is ready for promotion, or a client who has a complaint. These are very different situations which the manager of a salon may face but the skills required are very much the same. Most large companies spend a lot of money and time training their staff in the skills of interviewing because they see this ability as crucial to the effectiveness of their business. There is little doubt that the skills of interviewing are especially important to the manager of a hairdressing salon.
