A Study of Air Drop Hammer Dynamics

Summary

An analysis of the dynamics of an air drop hammer with self contained air compressor, is always a rather complicated procedure. It is, neverthelless, fundamental for establishing the relationships between the basic operating parameters both for hammer design and operation. In this paper an attempt is made to study air drop hammer dynamics with the assistance of an electronic computer programme. Obtained results comply well with already existing data. The computer programme itself is a usuful tool when having to do with this type of hammers.
