The Prospects for Migration between Commonwealth Countries
Most observers of trends in international migration appear to feel that voluntary migration in the 1980s and probably for the rest of the century will not be on the scale witnessed in the twenty years from the early 1950s to the early 1970s. On the other hand political factors leading to refugee migration are impossible to predict, and it may well prove to be the case that such migration from South East Asia and the Middle East will increase in volume in the 1980s.
