Designing and Installing a System for Social Forecasting

  • Geoffrey K. Morris

The need to understand the trends in the environment in which the organisation operates is increasingly recognised by those concerned with corporate decision-making. In this context, the question is asked how should organisations meet this requirement. Very often the question itself is triggered by a particular event or development. A crisis has occurred, and management afterwards has realised that a lot of unnecessary time and money was wasted in coping with the crisis — in managing the development of that particular issue; or someone at head office wants help and decides to organise that assistance in the optimum possible manner.
