Revolutions are about people. They can radically alter the lives of millions of people. The October Revolution, one of the most important, turned Russian society upside down. One can hardly expect those who suffered as a result of it to be very charitable about its advent. Document 9/1 is a graphic account of conditions in Petrograd as viewed by British refugees returning to London in the summer of 1918.
