Abstract

As has been reiterated in this book, the ‘choice’ of psychosomatic disorder is generally determined by genetic constitution, which means that particular individuals, and often particular families, ‘break down’ in one body system rather than another and it is largely a matter of choice of family tree. Certain factors are important in any disease but the following points should be borne in mind especially in dealing with a psychosomatic condition.
