Abstract

Thus in ‘The Ballad of Reading Gaol,’ under his prisoner pseudonym of ‘C.3.3,’ wrote the late Oscar Wilde, whose book, ‘De Profundis,’ has just been published, and revealed the secret sorrows and humiliations of one who rightly claimed to have been ‘a lord of language.’
