Abstract

A significant proportion of what you are studying today will be out of date in the space of a few years. But don’t be dismayed — this is unimportant provided that you have learnt during your studies how to find out for yourself, to think for yourself and to express yourself. This is what true education is about. The essence of it is summed up in the old proverb: ‘Give a man a fish and he is satisfied for a day: teach him how to fish and he will be satisfied for the rest of his life.’
