Abstract

The engineering model was referred to earlier as a good means of helping to make decisions. The specification can be considered as a means of transmitting decisions. Design information, from the initial concept until final manufacture, should be integrated as much as possible in a logical sequence. Consider the diagram showing a four-stage approach (see figure 4.1). Let us use this approach towards constructing possible specifications for some everyday items.
