Abstract
Peptic ulcers may recur in the gastric remnant, the stoma, the duodenum or jejunum after gastrectomy, pyloroplasty or gastrojejunostomy. Symptoms after gastric operations are difficult to assess clinically. Both radiology and endoscopy may fail to confirm or exclude such ulcers, either because of inadequate views or because of difficulty in interpreting what is seen. Gastric secretory studies can provide diagnostic information (tables 25.1–25.3).
