Abstract
These are regulated by various Acts of Parliament which lay down the method of formation, raising of capital, and so on. They also confer the benefit of Limited Liability, which means that, should the company be forced out of business, the liability of each shareholder for the debts of the firm is limited to the nominal value of the shares he owns.
