Force-time characteristics of reflexive muscle contractions

Studies of the force-time properties of the myotatic reflex have been conducted in a medical, physiological, and biophysiological context. There have been few, however, dealing with the variability of these reflex characteristics. The purpose of this investigation was to analyze these components of the response of the human quadriceps muscle when phasic stretch was applied to the patellar tendon of the right leg.
