Abstract
With minor exceptions, all these poems, including the first six lyrics from The Dynasts, are to be found in The Complete Poems of Thomas Hardy (London, 1975). They are here arranged alphabetically, three poems for children being listed separately. The poem ‘When wearily we shrink away’ has been omitted, as its authorship is uncertain and its style does not appear characteristic of Hardy. The five asterisked poems on pp. 263–4 were first published with an introductory essay by Evelyn Hardy in The London Magazine, 1956, pp. 28–39.
