Summary
This paper deals with the problem of sampled data computerised numerical control. The technique implies the partition of the tool path into successive segments of equal travel duration, the main problem being the choice of the sampling period and its influence on the contouring accuracy. The authors first introduce the most important theoretical considerations, and afterwards describe more thoroughly a particular drive system, built by the CRIF, using electrohydraulic stepping motors.
